Driving with Designer Specs
Posted on November 9th, 2009 6 commentsDo you drive with fat designer glasses frames? Did you realise that this may be seriously impacting your peripheral side vision?
This will mean that your vehicle width perception is being compromised.
Have you clipped your wing mirrors recently?
If you have done this whilst wearing your designer frame spectacles it could be due to the thick side arm on your frames.
The answer to this problem is to purchase a spare pair of glasses with standard width arms, which are kept in the car at all times, thus enabling you to drive safely at all times.Go to www.opticalmailorder.co.uk

Myopia – The advantages of being myopic in later life
Posted on May 1st, 2009 6 commentsAs you get older the inability to focus on close objects such as reading material, caused by the hardening of the internal lens making it difficult for the lens to reshape (increase power) when trying to focus close up. Known as loss of accommodation, usually occurs after the age of 40. First signs are pushing away reading matter to focus clearly. Can be corrected with reading glasses.
For the mildly myopic person they can, for the first time, claim an advantage over the ‘normal’ sighted person in as much as they are able to read generally close up without the aid of spectacles.
This may come as a pleasant surprise to those who have suffered with poor vision for a large part of their lives.
